FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When are your classes?

We teach our classes Tuesday-Friday. Copper foil classes (our most popular) meet weekly for 2.5 hours over 5 weeks.

Morning sessions are 10:00am-12:30pm,

Afternoon sessions are 1:00pm-3:30pm,

Evening sessions are typically 6:00pm-8:30pm (or 6:00pm-9:00 over 4 weeks, TBD by instructor).

We currently do not offer classes on weekends.

At the moment, we are only offering copper foil classes. We do not have any lead, mosaics, or fusing classes scheduled at this time.

When is your next available session?

Students taking our copper foil classes have the option of keeping their spots in class for the sessions that follow. Students will let us know mid-session if they wish to continue through the next session. Once we know how many spots we'll have available for an upcoming session, we will call down our waiting list and offer those openings. To be added to our waiting list, please call us at 609-784-8600 or stop by the store to speak with an instructor or associate.

Which glass art modalities do you work in/teach?

We work primarily in stained glass and leadlight, using the lead came and copper foil methods. We also do some kiln-work, known as "warm glass." We do not, however, work in "hot glass" at our facility (torch-work, glass blowing, etc.). We encourage prospective students to familiarize themselves with these general distinctions.

What is the cost for classes?

For copper foil class, the cost is $175 for the 5-class session. Classes meet weekly for 2.5 hours. The structure is the same for lead classes when we offer them, but at $195 for the 5-class session.

Supplies and materials will be sold separately. We have many options at varying price points. The estimated cost for these supplies/materials typically ranges $200 - $400. Your instructor will guide you through purchasing your materials during class. Please don't make these purchases on your own or through online retailers. We cannot vouch for products not purchased in-house. Our instructors will show you exactly what you need and how to use them. Honoring this request keeps the lights on and enables us to continue offering classes to the public.

What skill levels do you teach?

We teach all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. Each class will have a mix of students at varying levels of experience. Whether you're an established artist looking to brush up on your skills, or a total beginner who has never touched glass, our copper foil class is for you. Students also have the option of keeping their spots through subsequent sessions if they wish to continue expanding their skills under our instruction.

What will we make in stained-glass class?

For your first session, choose one of 7 beginner patterns we provide. We teach you to cut, grind, foil, solder, and finish a decorative 10"x16" stained glass panel. Students will choose from our extensive store-wide collection of art glass. Returning students may begin choosing more advanced patterns for their class projects.

Do I need my own tools?

Yes. If you're new to the trade, your instructor will guide you through choosing and purchasing your tools during class. We have many options at varying price points. Please don't make these purchases on your own or through online retailers. We cannot vouch for products not purchased in-house. Our instructors will show you exactly what you need and how to use them. Honoring this request keeps the lights on and enables us to continue offering classes to the public.

Is there an age requirement for classes?

Students must be over 18 years old to take the copper foil and lead classes without exception. For mosaics and fusing classes, teenage students are welcomed only if accompanied by a parent/trusted adult who is also registered to take the class themselves.

What is your class attendance policy?

Registration reserves your place on the schedule for the designated dates in a session. If you cannot attend a class, we will be unable to issue makeups or refunds, so please be sure all dates work with your schedule before registering. If you need to cancel your registration, we will need at least 7 full days’ notice before the start of the session for a refund or full credit.

What are the class sizes?

Class sizes for copper foil, lead, and mosaics are limited to 5 students per class, and 6 students for fusing class.
